Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
TapTV WiFi Remote ("TapTV") is developed by QXM Studio. It is a remote-control app for TVs on your Wi‑Fi. This policy explains how TapTV handles information.
We don't collect any data
- TapTV does not collect, upload, or sell any personal information or usage data.
- TapTV contains no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
- TapTV has no accounts and runs no servers that receive user data.
Local network communication
- TapTV needs Local Network access to find and control your TV. It only talks to TVs on your own Wi‑Fi network (for example Roku, Samsung, LG, Sony, and Google TV). Remote commands never go over the internet.
- When scanning, TapTV sends device-discovery requests on your local network (Bonjour, SSDP, and connection probes on common TV ports). These requests stay on your local network.
Stored only on your device
The following stays on your iPhone, is used only to make the remote work, and never leaves your device:
- Saved TVs: the TV's name, brand, local IP address, port, and the MAC address or serial number the TV reports (used to find the TV again if its IP changes).
- Your preferences: pinned apps and combos, control mode, haptics, and app language.
- Pairing credentials: tokens, pre-shared keys (PSK), or certificates issued by your TV during pairing, stored in the iOS Keychain and marked so they do not migrate to other devices through backups.
Forgetting a TV deletes its pairing credentials and combos. Deleting the app removes all of the above (iOS decides when Keychain items are purged).
Diagnostics
TapTV keeps a short, recent activity log in memory to help troubleshoot connection problems. IP addresses in it are partially masked, host names are replaced, and text you type is never included. The log is never sent automatically; it is copied to the clipboard only when you tap "Copy diagnostics" in the app, and you decide whether to share it with us.
If you email us, we use what you send (including any diagnostics you choose to attach) only to reply and help with your issue.
Children's privacy
TapTV does not collect information from children under 13 — or from anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If a future version starts collecting any data, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label first, and ask for your consent in the app.
